Recent Publications

Community land trusts are increasingly being recognized as the preferred approach to local community development initiatives. As a result, CLTs are finding themselves more and more in the news. Here is a partial list of recent publications highlighting CLTs across the country.

KnowledgePlex, in the August 3, 2005 edition of "Week in Review" hightlighted the new countywide CLT in Sarasota County, Florida. The newly-created Community Housing Trust of Sarasota County has plans to create 3,000 permanently affordable homes over the course of the next ten years - with the active support of the County, local city governments, employers and the business community, developers and nonprofit agencies.

In the January/February, 2002 issue (Issue #121) ShelterForce magazine published an article on CLTs, "Affordable Forever - Land Trusts Keep Housing Within Reach", by Winton Pitcoff.
